Dr. João A. Telles (Project Coordinator)
João holds a Ph.D. in Educational Linguistics from OISE - Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto (1996) and a post-doctorate from Université Charles de Gaulle, Lille III, France (2003). He is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Education, UNESP - Assisi, where he teaches Foreign Language Teaching Practicum at the undegrad level. He was visiting professor at Georgetown University (Washington, DC, USA, 2010)) and at the Institute for International Development, Hiroshima University, Japan (2000). In the Graduate Program in Language Studies, UNESP - Rio Preto, he supervises dissertations and theses in the areas of teacher development, computer mediated foreign language teaching / learning and teletandem. He is also the director of CLDP - Center for Languages and Teacher Development, Assis-UNESP and his research interests are linked to the cultural dimension of students' use of webcam images during teletandem interactions. Dr. Solange Aranha (Project Vice-Coordinator)
Solange has a degree in Language Arts from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho (1991), MA in Applied Linguistics and Language Studies from the Catholic University of São Paulo (1996) and a Ph.D. in Language Arts - Portuguese Language and Linguistics from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho (2004), Brazil. Currently, Solange is Assistant Professor of Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho. She also supervises dissertations and theses at the Graduate Program of Language Studies, UNESP - S.J. do Rio Preto. Her academic interests lie in the field of linguistics, with focus on discourse analysis, mainly in the following subjects: applied linguistics, linguistic analysis, genre analysis and teletandem. Dr. Rozana Aparecida Lopes Messias
Rozana has done her masters in Language Studies from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho (2003) and her doctorate in the field of Education from the Faculty of Philosophy of UNESP - Marilia (2009), Brazil. She is currently an assistant professor of Foreign Language Teaching Practicum at UNESP - Assis. Rozana worked as a teacher of Portuguese Language in Elementary Education from 1993 to 2005 and in private universities, teaching Portuguese Language and Foreign Language Teaching Practicum from 2002 to 2009. She has also taught Portuguese Language, Linguistics, Communication Theory, and Education and Technology. Dr. Suzi Spatti Cavalari
Suzi earned her Ph. D. in Linguistics from the Universidade Estadual Paulista. She has been teaching English as a foreign language for 20 years. Currently, she is Assistant Professor in the Department of Modern Languages at UNESP - S. J. do Rio Preto, where she teaches EFL at the undergraduate level (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Arts with specialization in translation). She holds a MA in Language Studies, focus in Applied Linguistics, from UNESP - Rio Preto. Dr. Kelly C.H.P. de Carvalho
Kelly holds an MA and a Ph.D. in Language Studies from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho, in the field of Contrastive Linguistics with focus on phonetics and phonology of Portuguese and Spanish. Currently, she is Assistant Professor of Spanish at UNESP - Assis, in the Department of Modern Languages. In the same institution, she acts as a teacher supervisor of student teachers of Spanish at the Center for Languages and Teacher Development. She is also an active research team member of the Project Teletandem and Transculturality, where she investigates the "Experiences of learning Spanish as a Foreign Language in Teletandem" - a study that focuses on the development of sociocultural competence of pre-service teachers of Spanish. Dr. Karin A. Henschel Pobbe Ramos
Karin has a Ph.D. and an MA in Language Studies from UNESP - Sao Paulo State University at Assis. Currently, she is Assistant Professor of Portuguese Teaching Practicum at the Faculty of Letters and Sciences, UNESP - Assis. Her research Interests focus on Applied Linguistics and the Teaching of Portuguese as a Foreign Language and First Language. She is a member of two research projects: Teletandem and Trasculturality and Society, School and Teacher Development - CNPq - Brazilian Federal Council of Research. Dr. Maria do Rosario Gomes Lima da Silva
Rosario has a degree in Language Studies (1982), an MA (1993) and a Ph.D. (2000) in Language Studies, all from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho. Currently, she is Assistant Professor of English at Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio de Mesquita Filho. Her professional experiences lie in the field of Language Studies, with emphasis on modern foreign languages, mainly in the following subjects: English language teaching and learning, translation, linguistics, and applied linguistics. Dr. Daniela N. de Moraes Garcia
Daniela graduated in Language Stsudies in 1997. In 2003, she obtained her Masters in Language Studies (Applied Linguistics) from UNESP - Assis. Currently, she holds a PhD in Linguistics from UNESP-S.J. do Rio Preto. G. She is Assistant Professor of English at the undergraduate level, where she supervises junior research scholarships. Her professional experiences lie in the field of language arts, with emphasis on modern foreign languages, mainly in the following subjects: English teaching, technology and foreign language learning, learning foreign languages in teletandem and the teaching-learning process. Dr. Lidiane Luvisari Murad
Lidiane Luvizari Murad has a degree in Language Arts from Londrina State University (UEL), a Master in Applied Linguistics (Foreign Language Acquisition) and a Ph.D. in Language Studies (Computer Assisted Language Learning in tandem) from Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), São José do Rio Preto. Her research focus on this project lies in cultural dimension of the virtual networks between teletandem mediators.
